Bert Kanters sent in this photograph of his 1981 series 2 Lancia Montecarlo spider parked next to a 1980 Ferrari 308 GTSi. Bert bought this car in 1999 and is its third owner.

The car was restored in 1993 by the second owner, who had owned the car since 1987.

The car is still in good shape, though hehad to repair the door bottoms and replace the front bonnet (with a polyester one, looks ugly). The exhaust I have welded up a few times already, but eventually it has got to be replaced.

Bert says "The Ferrari has the more refined engine and interior, while the Montecarlo gives more fun with it's handling and steering."

Modifications to the car include:

• Lowered suspension
• Different alloy wheels
• Sports exhaust system
