Fabrizio sent in these photos of his Montecarlo. He is based in Costa Rica and acquired the car after 10 years of abandonment. The previous owner sent the car from Costa Rica to the USA by plane in 1984 to have it prepared for racing. At that point in time the Californian shop did the following:
- Recaro Seats
- Turbo engine with low compression piston
- Modified crankshaft
- Bigger valves and ported head
- Abarth cams where installed
- Chevrolet Corvette Brake system (full 17" rotors and calipers)
- Magneti Marinelli electronic distributor and coil
- Set of 2pc Epsilon sport wheels
- Dual oil filters option. (later removed)
When Fabrizio received the car, it had no front bumper, the original headlights where broken and most of the car was a mess. Since then he has removed everything including the complete wiring system. A number of further alterations and improvements have been made including:
- Lancia Beta front lights
- New roof top and side straps
- New wiring loom - adaptation of EZ Wiring standard harness
- Coilover suspension upgrade
- Brake booster relocation
- Honda Prelude front bumper
- Adapted a coil over system to be able to adjust the height of the car
- New shock absorbers from some Fiat model (no idea on the model) but works.
- 195/45/15 tyres
- Ferrari red!
The brake booster has been taken from a Honda Civic and works directly from the pedal.
